An Email with the Subject "Your [Reimbursement] Payment Has Been Approved." was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Tue, 23 Sep 2014 04:11:23 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "Department of the Treasury" <info@un.org>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.
Please bear with us for making this initial contact through email, it is due to the urgency of this notification, since we are unable to reach your phone line and to officially bring to your notice about your payment file in which you are listed as the beneficiary. I write to bring to your notice as a delegate from the Division of the Treasury Government Reimbursement Committee under the strict supervision of the United Nations to pay initial scammed victims the sum of $1.5million US dollars each. With the help of the (OFAC)U.S Treasury Department's and with the FBI we have noticed that people have being asked to pay outrageous amount of money by these impostors for the transfer of their funds to them. We want you to stop all communication that has to do with these fraudsters who have been requesting unreasonable sums of money from you to release your funds which they do not have access to.
