An Email with the Subject "Important Message From The Co-operative Bank Security Department" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Mon, 03 Sep 2007 08:51:04 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as The Co-operative Bank p.l.c. <customerservice@co-operativebank.co.uk>.

The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.


The Co-operative Bank p.l.c., Internet Banking Security Department has been receiving complaints from our customers for unauthorised uses of The Co-operative Bank accounts. As a result we are temporarily shutting down some selected Online Accounts perceived vulnerable to this, pending till the time we carry out proper verification by the account owner. The Co-operative Bank p.l.c., is committed to ensure the safeguard of each customer personal information, making sure only authorised individuals have access to their accounts.
