An Email with the Subject "Online Banking - account update necessary" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Thu, 25 May 2006 09:59:24 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "Royal Bank of Canada"<onlinebanking@royalbank.com>.

The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.



   Dear 'Royal Bank of Canada' Customer,

   Due to recent fraudulent activities on some of 'Royal Bank of Canada' online
   accounts we are launching a new security system to make 'Royal Bank of Canada'
   online accounts more secure and safe. Before we can activate it we will be checking
   all 'Royal Bank of Canada' online accounts to confirm the authenticity of the holder.  


   Confirm Now your 'Royal Bank of Canada' and Online Banking services.

   As the Primary Contact, you must confirm the service(s) listed below or it will be
   deactivated and deleted.  


   SERVICE: 'Royal Bank of Canada' with Online Banking
   EXPIRATION: May -  30 - 2006

   Confirm Now your 'Royal Bank of Canada' and Online Banking services.

      -complete the required information to authenticate and reset your account

      -make sure your account balance has not been changed
