An Email with the Subject "Security Alert" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Thu, 29 Sep 2011 10:50:17 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "Wells Fargo" <security@activation.com>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.
Wells Fargo has been notified by numerous members that they have received e-mail requesting account information. We will never ask you to verify your account information via e-mail. Due to increasing number of fraudulent e-mails claiming to be from Wells Fargo, all VISA Check Cards, including yours (4342-58XX-XXXX) have been deactivated. We understand that having limited access can be an inconvenience, but protecting your account is our primary concern. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
