Search Scamdex & Scamalot
An Email with the Subject "COMPENSATION FROM UNITED NATIONS" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Thu, 12 Feb 2009 12:37:20 -0500 and has been classified as a Generic Scam Email. The sender shows as "UNITED NATIONS"<compensation@un.org>.
The email address was probably spoofed. Do not reply to or contact any persons or organizations referenced in this email, or follow any URLs as you may expose yourself to scammers and, at the very least, you will be added to their email address lists for spam purposes.

This email is to individuals who has suffered from the notorious Internet scamsin any part of the world, the UNITED NATIONS have agreed to compensate them with the sum of US$150,000.00 (One Hundred and Fifty thousand united state dollars) each. This includes every foreign contractors that may have not received their contract sum, people that have had an unfinished transaction or international Fund transfer that failed due to Government problems, Checks scams, etc. You are advised to contact Mrs Trisha Jacobs, Head of Foreign Remittance of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, in Nigeria, for your Guaranty Trust Bank Draft of US$150,000.00. This funds are in a Bank Draft for security purpose. So she will send it to you by courier and you can clear it in any bank of your choice in your country.
