Are your wellness incentives legal? Is your wellness program nondiscriminatory?

Since the final HIPAA nondiscrimination wellness program regulations went into effect on July 1, 2007, some, but not all, health promotion and disease prevention programs are now subject to HIPAA's additional non-discrimination requirements.

How can you build a successful wellness program that minimizes these potential legal risks?

Find out by registering today for:

Legal Aspects of Wellness Programs: Confronting HIPAA, ADA, and Other Compliance Issues   REGISTER NOW! FORWARD TO A FRIEND

To draw workers into wellness initiatives, employers are offering an increasing array of incentives, such as lower premium contributions, gift cards and cash rewards. However, questions remain about reward sizes, frequency, and the legality of offering incentives that benefit some, but not all workers.

How do you structure your wellness incentives—and punishments for non-participants—so that they are both legal and have the greatest impact upon changing employee behavior?

According to a 2007 survey from United Benefit Advisors, more than 25% of all employers either have health risk appraisal and health screening programs in place or intend to add them next year. And, an additional 45% of firms' surveyed said they planned to add some wellness programs soon meaning many more companies may now also be at risk.

Join IOMA and the health care compliance experts from The Segal Company for this invaluable 90-minute audio program to get a review of the final HIPAA nondiscrimination and wellness program regulations.

Plus, you'll learn how to:

Avoid offering wellness programs that fall under the legal definition of providing "medical care" Determine when a wellness program is legally "voluntary" Understand which wellness and disease management programs are subject to the HIPAA's nondiscrimination requirement Maintain successful, compliant wellness programs Design your wellness programs to minimize legal risks Avoid noncompliance with other federal or state laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) while becoming HIPAA compliant

Plus, get answers to your toughest questions in the live Q&A session following the discussion.
