Employment Contract for Fake Job
This is an example of a contract for a job working overseas (Nigeria). The scam is the fee (US$ 500), and any more they can extract from the victim. As with all scams of this type, the scammers trade on the unwillingness of the victim to admit that they have been defrauded - sending good money after bad. Veracity is enforced by dull, formal documents which cloak the scam among a list of other 'requirements' - copy of passport etc. (Though these could conceivably be used for identity theft at a later date). Note the usual spelling errors.
The biggest red flag is the country - Nigeria is possily the most institutionally corrupt, western-friendly country in the world. The surrounding countries are working hard to emulate it but generally speaking, any dealings with West African countries should be treated with the utmost suspicion. Check all facts thoroughly before you part with any money, goods or personal information.
