A Scam Email with the Subject "Hsbc Account Security Update" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Sun, 13 Apr 2008 11:16:56 -0700 and has been classified as a Phishing, ID Theft Scam. The sender was Hsbc Account Department <security@hsbc.co.uk>, although it may have been spoofed.

Dear valued HSBC® member:

 Due to concerns, for the safety and integrity of the HSBC
account we have issued this warning message.

 It hs with the online service.
 

However, failure to update your records will result in account suspension.
Please update your records on or before April 22, 2008.

Once you have updated your account records your HSBC account
service will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.
