A Scam Email with the Subject "Dear Customer" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Wed, 11 Oct 2006 08:03:06 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam. The sender was "E*TRADE" <>, although it may have been spoofed.

Dear E*TRADE Customer,

We recently reviewed your account, and suspect that your E*TRADE account may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party.
Protecting the security of your account and of the E*TRADE network is our primary concern.
Therefore, as a preventative measure, we have temporarily limited access to sensitive account features.

To restore your account access, please take the following steps to ensure that your account has not been compromised:

Login to your E*TRADE account with your USER ID and Password , Email Adress and Email Password , and wait to update your account.

Review your recent account history for any unauthorized withdrawals or deposits, and check your account profile to make sure no changes have been made.
If any unauthorized activity has taken place on your account, report to E*TRADE immediately.
