A Scam Email with the Subject "Ebay Notification : Posibile Account Hack" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Mon, 10 Oct 2005 21:24:27 -0700 and has been classified as a Auction/Escrow Scam. The sender was "Service@eBay.com" <aw-confirm@eBay.com>, although it may have been spoofed.


Dear valued eBay member,
Our IP sentinel has detected a strange IP using you eBay account and it might be used for illegal activities.If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and update your personal records you will not run into any future problems with the online service. However, failure to update your records will result in account suspension. Please update your records by October 31th.

Once you have updated your account records your eBay session will not be interrupted and will continue as normal. Failure to update will result in cancellation of service, Terms of Service (TOS) violations or future problems.
