A Scam Email with the Subject "Colonial Bank Update - News." was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Tue, 26 Aug 2008 14:12:26 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam. The sender was "Colonial Bank Customer Service Department" <email@example.com>, although it may have been spoofed.

- Never write down your passwords.
- Never share passwords with anyone.
- Change your password every few months.
- Change your password if you think it has been compromised.
For a password to be strong and hard to break, it should be at least nine characters long, contain characters from each of the following three groups: letters (uppercase and lowercase), numerals, symbols (all characters not defined as letters or numerals), not contain your name or user name and not be a common word or name.
