This email with the subject "Ebay ID Verification" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Fri, 02 Jun 2006 19:12:07 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam.

The sender was "Ebay Inc." <awconfirm@ebay.com>, although it may have been spoofed.

During our regularly scheduled account maintenance and verification procedures, we have detected a slight error in your billing information.


The ID Verify icon is displayed in a user’s member profile and shows that they have successfully completed the ID Verification process.


This might be due to either of the following reasons:

1. A recent change in your personal information ( i.e. change of address).
2. Submitting invalid information during the initial sign up process.
3. An inability to accurately verify your selected option of payment due to an internal error within our processors.

If your account information is not updated within 48 hours then your ability to sell or bid on eBay will become restricted.
