  • Lottery/Lotto Scams
    Lottery/Lotto Scams are probably the most common email scam out there. You have won $$$ for a lottery you did not enter or some random pick of your email address by Yahoo/Google/BMW/Microsoft etc.
    Except there's always a catch - you 'just' need to send them $$$$ for courier service, bribes, lawyers fees, income tax etc...

    Phishing is the art of fraudulently acquiring personal information with the intent of committing Identity Theft (pretending to be you in order to gain financially).
    Emails that ask you to 'confirm' something, important looking emails that need you to change your password, Notices that your account has been hacked. The list goes on and on.

  • Dating Scams
    Dating Scams are all about getting money out of people. It's a long con that may go on for weeks or months but finally the payload comes.... usually it's a request for help in getting a passport or paying a credit ca bill or fixing a car .... the result is the same - you end up poorer and the scammer dumps you when you stop paying.

    HYIP stands for High Yield Investment Program. HYIPs are purported investment programs normally offered via the Internet. HYIPs typically accept investments of $100 or less while promising high returns. Almost all HYIPs use e-currencies such as e-Gold or StormPay, which has made it easy for HYIPs to operate across international boundaries, and to accept large numbers of small investments.

  • Affiliate Schemes
    I've joined my share of them. Somehow though, I've never managed to earn anything. I think they're all a huge scam. They get millions of free advertising page views (which THEY get money for) and they only pay out on very harsh terms.....
