Subject:  Automated Tax Refund Notification

A Scam Email with the Subject "Automated Tax Refund Notification" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Wed, 25 Feb 2015 19:09:35 -0800 and has been classified as a Generic Scam. The sender was "HM Revenue & Customs"<online-service@hmrc.gov.uk>, although it may have been spoofed.


Dear Sir/Madame,

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible 
to receive a tax refund of 648.35 GBP
Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 6-9 days in order to process it.

To access your tax refund, please follow the steps bellow:

- download the Tax Refund Form attached to this email
- open it in a browser (recommended mozilla firefox)
- follow the instructions on your screen


A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons. For example submitting invalid records or 
applying after the deadline.
