A Scam Email with the Subject "Important Message From The Co-operative Bank Security Department" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Mon, 03 Sep 2007 08:51:04 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam. The sender was The Co-operative Bank p.l.c. <customerservice@co-operativebank.co.uk>, although it may have been spoofed.


The Co-operative Bank p.l.c., Internet Banking Security Department has been receiving complaints from our customers for unauthorised uses of The Co-operative Bank accounts. As a result we are temporarily shutting down some selected Online Accounts perceived vulnerable to this, pending till the time we carry out proper verification by the account owner. The Co-operative Bank p.l.c., is committed to ensure the safeguard of each customer personal information, making sure only authorised individuals have access to their accounts.
