A Scam Email with the Subject "Banking Alert: Important Security Update" was received in one of Scamdex's honeypot email accounts on Mon, 28 Jul 2008 18:09:31 -0700 and has been classified as a Generic Scam. The sender was St.George Internet Banking <admin_helpdesk@stg.com.au>, although it may have been spoofed.


Internet Banking update.

  • Due to the Online service changes, We have decided to put an extra verification process to ensure your identity and your account security changes. Please Log in to Secure Your Internet Banking to continue to the verification process
  • (Failure to verify your account details for online service changes will lead to account disconnection)

What's new?

  • There will be a great new look to the service with a much simpler menu
  • Your homepage will be called 'My accounts'
  • You'll be able to see all your accounts on one screen and transfer money instantly between them.

Protecting Your Security Details

  • Never share any of your personal security details with anyone else -treat them as you would a PIN for a cash machine.
  • If in the future you suspect your password has been seen by anyone else, we strongly recommend that you change it.
  • You can do this easily from within the online service.
